Opinions are divided when it comes to bleeding during menstruation. Some experts believe that the follicle`s rupture and release of the egg are to blame for their appearance. When you are ovulating, luteinizing hormone makes the surface of the follicle thinner and can even brake. This way, the egg is released and leaves towards one of the fallopian tubes. This stage when the egg is released might sometimes be accompanied by a small bleeding.

On the other hand, there are voices which say that the female hormones, estrogen to be more exact, can cause this bleeding.
