Planning the Gender of a Baby based on the Conception Date
Although the idea of planning your future baby`s gender based on the date of the sexual contact seems attractive, this is impossible from a scientific point of view.
The gender of the baby is determined by genetic information, contained by the male sexual cell, and as mentioned above, in the process of fertilization there are tens or even hundreds of millions of sperm, half of which may conceive a boy, and the other half a girl.
The activity of sperm doesn`t depend on the calendar day, the month, the position in which the intercourse took place or other such factors; that`s why is impossible to predict or influence the choice of sperm that will fertilize the egg in natural conditions.
Currently, there are lots of information and recommendations online regarding the way in which you can conceive a boy or girl by choice, but they are useful and worthless. The apparent “efficiency” of one of these methods can be easily explained: the chances of conceiving a baby of a certain gender is, averagely, of 50% which is a lot in terms of probability theory. Due to this reason, what is considered regularity in a specific way of conceiving a baby of a certain gender is actually a coincidence.
The “selection” of the baby`s gender is possible only in case of artificial insemination.
What Happens in the Woman`s Body after Conception?
From the moment of implantation, in the woman`s organism starts to develop a pregnancy. Asking herself the questions about sensations after conception, the woman is actually interested in the possibility of establishing based on them if the conception has occurred. To this question, the “conception” term is used with the “sexual contact” term.
In the first 1 – 2 weeks, there couldn`t be any sensation associated with conception. Later, there may be signs of pregnancy, but not sooner.
